They're a non-hostile race. [The little guy bites one of Shadow's fingers. He clicks his tongue at that.]
Normally. [He grips the purple gremlin by the head, trying to force it to calm down.] They hold a power others can use, and unfortunately exploit. This one's power has become corrupt from overuse.
Not exactly. They were visitors from another planet. [It's a long story that Shadow doesn't feel like going into. The Blue hedgehog and friends can do that. Even now he's groaning at the long talk about what they can do, but if they're going to start showing up here...]
They're comprised of an energy called Hyper-go-on. It's their life force and allows them to transform into various forms and attacks to adapt to their environment. Other creatures can harness this power, if they let you. [The purple wisp is making grumbling noises in his grip, but has visibly calmed down, for now.] You can think of their energy having a positive and negative force. This is the end result when the positive energy is abused beyond their limit.
Hm. Like a void, it will consume everything around it instead. [As the wisp seems to have calmed down, he'll let it sit on his hand. The wisp seems to have realized it was not in any immediate danger around Shadow. Now it was looking around curiously and then up at the shellphone. Don't even think about eating that.]
They can be restored, if there were other wisps. [Implications there is...concerning. How long have wisps been in this world? How many more did the one behind this capture already?]
When you say consume... Is that something to be worried about?
[Because, you know, that would be important to clarify!! The idea of consuming energy and all that is, well, yeah.]
And if there others. [He did catch the implications behind that.] I imagine it has to be the same kind of wisp? Another kind of creature or entity that could perhaps have similar properties wouldn't do?
In the wrong hands, yes. [It's not going on a eating frenzy right now, right?]
Any uncorrupt wisps will do. [Cid brings up an interesting point though.] ...It might be possible to find an alternative. [This world doesn't behave like normal. People and things are always being brought here from various worlds and universes. It's more believable to consider the option.]
Something worth considering. Perhaps even those moths might be worth a try for something. However, if one managed to get through here—be it through the rifts or someone else—it's also not unlikely there could be others.
Is it possible for it to sense or track them somehow? Or is there anything that could help find them? Assuming they're not all trapped like this one was.
[He looks down at the wisp. Well, there's one way to find out.] Are there others here?
[The wisp looks up, making various noises in contemplation. Eventually it nods.] Hm. We want to rescue the others. Can you help us? [Aka, do they have permission to use it? Tails might already have an idea how to gather their energy signature to locate the others. Might even get them closer to catching the mastermind behind this.
Unfortunately, the wisp understandably doesn't give an immediate response. It makes a sad warble, slumping in his hand. Wary.] ...We may have to wait.
Don't let their appearance fool you. They are an intelligent race. [In understanding others, they can still be occasionally stupid. The wisp shivers slightly in his hand.] It's not ready.
[Can he? Yes. Does he want to be responsible for it? No. He sighs. He could make one of Sonic's friends look after it. If it'll let him.] If I must. I will report when it's able to assist.
You could always try taking it to the Cosmo Conservatory. I know they are trustworthy folk and they might be able to create an environment for it to relax and calm down. Perhaps even know of some things that could serve as alternative resources for it.
...I suppose he might know. [He, being Professor Turo. He stares down at the wisp. He knows it's listening to their conversation, but their behavior hasn't changed. Still a bit shaken and wary about going anywhere.] I will consider it.

That thing? And you have it flying out on its own?

Cid is just watching you with a dry look, Shadow. However, it's clear that he seems to know of it, which means...]
So it's something else from your world. What kind of power does it use, and what does it mean for it to be corrupt?

Does this mean its energy now has a negative force?
[He also feels a bit sorry for it, both for the abuse and... Well, being stuck in Shadow's grip. But perhaps it for the best.]

[He watches a bit fascinated before looking back at Shadow more directly.]
Is it unable to for some reason?

Fair enough, it does seem to have gone through quite a bit. Are you able to keep it safe and provide whatever it needs to help recover?
